Come on down to the Shoppe this Friday from 6-9pm to celebrate a series of new photographs by the wonderful Mariah Gardner. Ms. Gardner has got a heart for adventure and an eye for taking damn fine pictures of her various exploits—both nautical and otherwise—around the greater Bay Area.
Ask The Dust captures details from the San Francisco Maritime National Park’s collection of small craft---the preservation of boats and their ephemera, some awaiting restoration, others arrested in their various states of decay. All have a tale to tell and this is what Ask The Dust intends to do. Photographs are displayed in frames handmade using scrap lumber from the C.A. Thayer restoration project and a variety of “artifacts” from the artist’s own maritime collection will be on hand, a whimsical take on what may (or may not) be considered worth preserving.
Please join us on Friday to admire her fine work. There will be snacks. And knowing Mariah there will probably also be something interesting to drink as well....
